Many evacuees continue to live in temporary shelters due to the March 11th disaster in Japan. One NGO launched a recovery-assistance project, called the “Tohoku Unity Project,” collaborates with more than 60 organizations and companies. It collects donations from individuals and firms, and delivers solar panels, solar water heaters and biomass boilers to disaster-hit regions to provide sustainable energy.
